Julian managed to get away for a 3-day solo writing retreat. Nature helped inspire both thought and productivity.

Julian presented a keynote address at the Texas A&M 25th Annual Ecological Integration Symposium.

Julian was in Bozeman, MT, co-leading a workshop with American Rivers - North Rockies Region that discussed the National Protected Rivers Assessment.

Julian just returned from Mexico City where he attended The Nature Conservancy One Conservancy Science Gathering. He is serving on the inaugural External Science Advisory Board for TNC.

Julian spent the summer in New Zealand as an Erskine Fellow at the University of Canterbury, working with Jono Tonkin, Tadeu Siqueira, and others.
